First Friday Open Mic Night at the Cooper Courtyard

The Cooper open mic night is back. Starting the first Friday in April 2017 and every first Friday of each month until October. Bring your voice, talent and any friends or family to come show off your stuff or just come to enjoy the entertainment. All ages are welcome, so if your just beginning music, poetry, comedy or just reading a great story come on down let us here what you have. The camaraderie is great and the crowd is very encouraging and supportive. It’s a fun way to practice in front of an audience and get exposure. If your already a seasoned performer we would love to have you show us what you’ve got. We really enjoy everyone who has performed at our open mics in the past no matter what level or style they are at. Sign ups start at 7pm and are limited to three songs or approximately 15 min for each performer until we have gone through everyone signed up, then we will start another round with anyone who wants to perform again until 10:30 or until everyone has performed.  From 10:30 to 11pm (at the end of the night) or later we will have an Open Jam. This is a new thing we are trying this year. It’s to let people who have never played or sung in a group try to play, sing or try out a different instrument. The Cooper has been slowly acquiring instruments to have on hand for everyone to try. If you have an instrument you would like to donate to the Cooper Museum please contact Dave Stevens at 909-838-9221. For info or questions about the open mic please email Jeff Owens at jowens@coopermuseum.org. We hope to see you there…
